Dead Island 2 counts among April 2023’s most highly anticipated titles. If you’re eagerly awaiting the moment when we don the mantle of zombie slayer extraordinaire once more, you may be wondering if a Steam release date is planned.
A Dead Island 2 Steam release date would bring the long-awaited sequel to Valve’s storefront which, even after the advent of the Epic Games Store, continues to remain a dominant force within the PC gaming space.
Dead Island 2 Steam Release Date
Unfortunately, Dead Island 2 won’t benefit from a Steam release date when it launches on April 21, 2023. The game is one of the Epic Games Store’s many exclusives on PC.

This means that anyone planning on playing the PC version of Dead Island 2, will have to pick it up on EGS.
There’s no official word on how long the exclusivity deal is set to last, but we can expect it to be in place for at least six months, based on past examples.
This makes it highly unlikely for us to see Dead Island 2 launching on Steam prior to October 2023.
Even then, the majority of Epic exclusivity deals last for a full year, so we might have to wait until 2024 to play the zombie slaying game on Valve’s storefront.
We won’t know for sure without an official announcement from publisher Deep Silver. Those of us looking to jump in as soon as possible, will undoubtedly have to pick up the game on the EGS.
