Developer Ghost Ship Games has announced the start and end dates of Deep Rock Galactic’s Year 5 Anniversary event, alongside the first set of details about what we can expect from it in terms of content.
Going live in early March 2023, DRG’s Year 5 Anniversary event comes with the expected “Space Rig decoration, rewards, and botched Longbeard Freight deliveries,” the latter of which likely translates to yet another chance to earn double season pass XP, provided players track down some sort of special object during missions.

The event also deviates from its peers in a rather notable way. Given how the title has received a plethora of updates since it first saw the light of day, the developer plans to add the option to play the original version of the game.
This takes veteran players on a trip down memory lane while allowing newer miners to get a taste of how DRG played back in early 2018.
Deep Rock Galactic’s Year 5 Anniversary event has locked down its start date to March 2. Its end date is slated to occur on March 16, so we have precisely two weeks to work towards the new rewards it introduces.

Its dedicated Anniversary Bonus assignment stretches across four missions, rewarding players who complete all of them with 15,000 credits, 550 crafting minerals, 20 brewing ingredients, 1 overclock infused matrix core, 1 cosmetic infused matrix core, and a party hat in the shape of the number 5.
In addition, the Supporter II Upgrade DLC also goes live alongside the event. Much like the first one, this is an entirely optional purchase meant to support the developer without impacting gameplay.
It comes with a variety of very shiny gold-laden cosmetic items that change the look of your dwarves’ armor, weapons, pickaxe, Bosco drone, and even the mug they use to fill their bodies with alcohol before a mission.
The developer has also confirmed that it has no plans to stop working on content for the co-op first-person shooter.
“On the contrary, we have never been as busy making exciting new things for this labor of love which now turns 5. Keep your eyes and ears open for more details on this, coming your way soon,” reads a Steam post from early February.
That is what we know so far about Deep Rock Galactic’s Year 5 Anniversary event, its start and end dates, alongside the content we can expect from it. For more on the game, here’s when we expect Season 3 to end.
