Diablo 3’s Season 29 marks yet another content refresh for the long-running hack and slash RPG, bringing with it a slate of new features and rewards. Visions of Enmity’s limited-time nature makes knowing its start and end dates vital for anyone looking to make the most out of it.
Diablo 3’s Season 29 start and end dates are rather hard to pin down prior to an official announcement from Blizzard. The game’s seasons vary in length quite a bit – ranging between 70 and 136 days – and usually have a two-week break between them, outside of special circumstances.
Diablo 3 Season 29 Release Date
Diablo III’s Season 29 is in a bit of a special situation when compared to its peers, since its release date is set to occur following the launch of Diablo IV.
Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson has now confirmed, in an interview with Wowhead, that although Season 29 will have a new theme, “it won’t be as rich as Season 28.”
It will also be the final season to offer a new theme. Going forward, players who stick to the third game in the series can expect “a mix and match of previous cosmetics and features that made up previous Seasons.”
While the two games likely had different teams working on them, Blizzard has reiterated that Season 29, called Visions of Enmity and whose start date has been locked down to September 15, 2023, will be the final one to introduce a new theme.
Patch 2.7.6 is set to go live three days earlier, on September 12.
From Season 30 onwards, the ARPG will cycle through themes from past seasons roughly every three months, giving anyone who still enjoys playing it reasons to return.
Diablo III Seasons usually kick off on Fridays, ending on Sundays. In the past, there have been exceptions to this rule, while Season 23 and 22 ran for a total of 128 and 110 days, respectively, making them some of the longest in the game’s history.
Expected start date
- Diablo 3 Season 29 start date: September 15 at 5 PM PDT/CET/KST
- Diablo 3 Season 29 end date: Before January 12, 2024
Its end date is slated to occur in the days leading up to January 12, 2024, when Season 30 kicks off.
Diablo 3 Season 29 Theme
Diablo 3’s Season 29 theme is Visions of Enmity, which sees portals known as Diabolical Fissures appearing across Sanctuary.
Entering them “triggers both dangerous memories from your past, and even more dangerous emissaries of Hell to slaughter,” according to the developer.
Diablo 3 Season 29 Cosmetic Rewards
In terms of cosmetic rewards, we can now pursue the Old Growth pet, the Galactic Wings, alongside the Greyhollow portrait frame e.
In addition, two new End of Journey cosmetic rewards will be introduced, in the shape of the Quoth pet and the Mad King’s Favor portrait frame.
