Diablo 3’s Season 30 ushers in a shift in how the hack and slash RPG’s post-launch support is handled. After several years during which we got a steady stream of new content, its start and end dates mark the first time a season launches without a new theme.
This change was previously announced and likely comes as a result of Diablo 4’s live service kicking into full gear. But although it’s set to tread more familiar ground, Diablo 3’s Season 30 start and end dates should very much be of interest to players who still enjoy the older entry in the series.
Diablo 3 Season 30 Release Date
Blizzard initially confirmed that it intends future seasons to launch “roughly every 3 months,” bringing back older themes into the spotlight.
Patch 2.7.7 was made available on the PTR in early December 2023, as Season 29 remained underway.
In early January 2024, the developer locked in Diablo 3’s Season 30 start date to January 12, 2024 at 5 PM PST/CET/KST. Its end date wasn’t revealed then, but we currently expect it to occur at some point between April and May 2024, unless something changes.
Expected start date
- Diablo 3 Season 30 start date: January 12, 2024
- Diablo 3 Season 30 end date: Between April 2024 and May 2024 (GameWatcher estimation)
Its end date wasn’t revealed just yet, but we currently expect it to occur at some point between April and May 2024, unless something changes.
Diablo 3 Season 30 Theme
Diablo 3’s Season 30 theme The Lords of Hell. First introduced in Season 25, it allows us to harness the power of Hell’s Lords using seven unique Soul Shards.
We can equip one of three Prime Evil Soul Shards on our helms and one of fould Lesser Evil Soul Shards on our weapons. Each Soul Shard can then be upgraded three times using a new seasonal-exclusive consumable, the Hellforge Ember. Both can drop anywhere in Sanctuary, although bosses are a more reliable source of Soul Shards.
Diablo 3 Season 30 Cosmetic Rewards
In terms of cosmetic rewards, we can obtain the chest and gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set as well as a series of portrait frames decorated with Blood Shards.
