Diablo 4’s Abattoir of Zir pinnacle dungeon is set to enhance the endgame experience in Season 2, with its anticipated release in early December.
Among the mid-season updates unveiled at BlizzCon 2023, Diablo 4’s Abattoir of Zir introduces a multi-level dungeon designed to test characters that have reached their full level of potential.
Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir Seasonal Event
To enter the Abattoir of Zir endgame dungeon in Diablo 4, players must first conquer all seven chapters of the Season Journey. Successful completion grants the ability to forge unique Bloodforged Sigils with the Occultist.
With a Bloodforged Sigil, adventurers can open a gore-drenched portal called a Visceral Channel in Ked Bardu to the 25-tiered Abattoir of Zir, each level more challenging than the last. Echoing the spirit of Diablo 3’s Greater Rifts, players face a race against the clock, vanquishing foes within 10 minutes to fill a progress bar. Upon reaching the threshold, a boss emerges; defeating it not only completes the dungeon but also rewards players with various treasures.
Completing one tier of D4’s Abbatoir of Zir unlocks the recipe for the next tier’s Bloodforged Sigil.
Tailored for characters at level 100, the dungeon also debuts an exclusive Paragon glyph named Tears of Blood, which enhances Rare nodes nearby and provides a substantial damage increase. Its level cap soars beyond regular Paragon glyphs by a factor of ten.
Furthermore, the Abattoir offers an opportunity to amass much greater experience for leveling standard Paragon glyphs, making the often tedious high-level advancement more rewarding.
The difficulty of its first level resembles that of a tier 100 Nightmare Dungeon and it only goes up from there, cementing the fact that this dungeon is meant to challenge endgame characters.
Set to release on December 5, 2023, with patch 1.2.3, Diablo 4’s Abattoir of Zir and the Tears of Blood glyph are seasonal features that will retire with the conclusion of Season 2, on January 23, 2024.
Further information is expected to be revealed as the launch date approaches.
