What’s the Diablo 4 world boss schedule? Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred and its Season of Hatred arrived on October 8, bringing a new Act, a new world region, and a new class, the Spiritborn, to the game, alongside plenty of extra mechanics, systems, and endgame activities. Still, veteran players are chasing the World Bosses all over the map to get bonus rewards each week, and we’re here to tell you all you need to know about their spawn schedules and locations.
After Season 2 and Patch 1.2.0, Diablo 4 simplified the World Bosses’ spawn pattern to 3.5 hours. Before that change, these enemies had more unpredictable patterns that were rather annoying to follow, making schedules hard to lock down and keep updated.
At the time of writing, the Vessel of Hatred expansion hasn’t added a fourth World Boss to the game, but that may change in the coming months through the big seasonal content drops. As it stands, Ashava, Avarice, and Wandering Death are the three big baddies roaming around the map.
When do the weekly caches reset in Diablo 4?
Each World Boss drops one Grand Cache of loot per week, making them relevant for players hitting the grind hard even if more compelling endgame content is available at the moment.
These Grand Cache drops reset on Thursday every week, meaning that you can kill, for example, Ashava on Tuesday and then jump into battle again on Sunday of the same week to nab two Grand Caches. Each of the three World Bosses has a Grand Cache, meaning that you can go from Ashava to Avarice and Wandering Death to get three caches per weekly reset.
Where and when can the World Bosses spawn in Diablo 4?
There are several locations across Sanctuary where World Bosses can pop up, one per major region found on the map. Here’s the current rundown:
- Caen Adar in Scosglen.
- The Crucible in Fractured Peaks.
- Saraan Caldera in Dry Steppes.
- Seared Basin in Kehjistan.
- Fields of Desecration in Hawezar.
- The Cauldron in Nahantu.
You don’t need to predict where the World Bosses will spawn or follow a fixed schedule, as you’ll get notifications of when and where the next World Boss is spawning after you beat the main campaign. If you don’t want to miss the next encounter, you can also find that information on the world map and via Whispers.
However, if you still need a quick live countdown to each of the upcoming World Boss spawns, we highly recommend dedicated sites like D4Planner, where you can even enable push notifications.
What are World Bosses and what loot do they drop in Diablo 4?
All three currently available bosses are giant in size and require groups of players (who don’t need to be in the same party) to team up to stand a chance. If you haven’t been around since Diablo 4’s launch, you must also know that they’ve received buffs to their resilience to equalize the damage of players with stronger builds.
- Ashava the Pestilent
- Avarice, the Gold Cursed
- The Wandering Death
On top of Grand Caches, World Bosses drop summoning materials for Tormented Bosses and rare items like Scattered Prisms, Uniques, and Legendaries, making them a valuable part of the endgame loop still.
