Base building survival RTS Diplomacy Is Not An Option is about to become considerably more metal with the launch of the Undead update.
Available now, it expands the roster of playable factions with a new addition that does things a bit differently.
Diplomacy Is Not An Option The Undead Update
Rather than rely on sturdy walls for defense, the undead use rows of bodies to stave off attacks, should they ever need to.
Despite technically having been robbed of life, their main focus is offense; why rely on walls susceptible to destruction when you can annihilate your enemies and use their corpses as a means of protection?
Playing aggressively also fuels the undead faction’s economy, since fallen foes can be raised as zombies.
These shamblers can then be recycled into useful bones – one of five unique resources the faction can access – or used to add more powerful troops to your ranks.
Diplomacy Is Not An Option’s Undead update also brings the number of story branches up to four, from the previous three, promising “the most metal story in the game.”
Its release trailer, embedded below, is a blast to watch, being one of the few in recent memory brave enough to mix loud distorted guitars and death metal vocals with the triangle – undoubtedly the most metal instrument of them all.
Diplomacy Is Not An Option and its Undead update are available now on PC.
Having left early access in October, the title features endless, challenge, and sandbox modes in addition to its story campaigns.
Aside from its deep base management that emphasizes proper storage placement and timely removal of lingering bodies for the non-undead, it also features massive battles whose waves can be comprised of up to 25,000 units.
Should that strike your fancy, the title is discounted by 35% across all storefronts until December 4.
