So, you’ve reached the ‘With Great Power’ main story quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley and Ursula, the Sea Witch herself, has tasked you with retrieving the Orb of Power from the Mystical Cave. This orb, you’ll quickly learn, is just one of many that will be used throughout the game to activate the main pillars situated in different biomes. For this quest, we’ll focus on the Pillar of Power on Dazzle Beach.
Here’s a complete walkthrough filled with everything you need to know about completing the Mystical Cave puzzles and riddles and ultimately removing the mist from Dazzle Beach’s Pillar of Power. First, you must visit the Cursed Cave, the location of which we’ll get into below.
How to locate Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Cursed Cave
After you unlock the Dazzle Beach biome by paying 5,000 Dreamlight to Merlin at the entrance blocked by night thorns, you’ll receive the ‘With Great Power’ quest.
First things first, you’ll need to find and speak to Ursula inside the Cursed Cave. The cave is located in the top right corner of Dazzle Beach, past the hilltop path to the Forest of Valor. You’ll know you’ve gone too far if you reach a dead end blocked by rocks. Simply turn around and you’ll see the purple, misty entrance of the Cursed Cave.
How to enter Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Mystical Cave
Inside the Cursed Cave, you will have interacted with Ursula who will have given you a Crystal Key that needs to be placed on a device near the locked entrance to the Mystical Cave.
The Mystical Cave is located in the grassy area left of Dazzle Beach’s sandy shores, found immediately after you descend the slope from Peaceful Meadow. Whilst there’s a few trees in front of it, it shouldn’t be too hard to find as the grassy area is quite small. Place the Crystal Key on the device as prompted and you’ll find your way inside.
How to complete Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Mystical Cave Gem Puzzle and Riddle
First up, you need to disable the first Magical Gate to descend further into the cave. Each gate will have a riddle and for this first one, you’re instructed to ‘Provide the gem that matches best to continue on your hero’s quest.’ Looking around, there’s three statues with hands held open waiting to receive an appropriate gem. Each statue has a glowing necklace that symbolises which gem you want to use.
- Green statue - mine a Peridot gem from Dazzle Beach and Peaceful Meadow
- Blue statue - mine an Aquamarine gem from Dazzle Beach and Forest of Valor
- Red statue - mine a Garnet gem from Plaza and Peaceful Meadow
In each location, you’ll find mining spots that are large, black rocks that stand out against the rocky areas of each biome. They’re easy to spot, but if you have your pickaxe equipped they will change colour to signify an action can be used against them.
Once you’ve successfully mined and gathered all three gems, return to the Mystical Cave and place the appropriate gem by colour coordination to each statue. The first Magical Gate will disappear and onwards you go to your next puzzle.
How to complete Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Mystical Cave Crops Puzzle and Riddle
Up next, another riddle awaits. This time, ‘Discover the right crops to grow to continue on below. One is underground, the other gold and brown. What remains is red and round.’
Once again, there are three statues surrounding the Magical Gate, but this time there are small mounds of dirt that require you to plant a seed in each.
- One is underground - Carrot from Peaceful Meadow
- One is gold and brown - Wheat from Peaceful Meadow
- One is red and round - Tomato from Dazzle Beach
Each crop seed can be bought or found at each biome location stated above. You’ll either find them by removing night thorns from the specific area or by purchasing them from Goofy’s Stall. You’ll have had to unlock the stall and potentially upgrade it to unlock the seeds which will cost you Star Coins.
Once you’ve acquired the three seeds, head back to the statues and plant each seed and keep them watered. Crops take longer to grow when they’re not in the biome that they are found in, so you’ll need to keep coming back to visit and water them in order to help them grow. After a little patience and a lot of careful watering, your crops will grow and then you’ll harvest them, triggering the second Magical Gate to disappear. Note: don’t eat your crops, you’re about to need them.
How to complete Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Mystical Cave Cooking Puzzle and Riddle
Here lies your third and final riddle, ‘The final riddle, let it be known: to cook and eat what you have grown.’ Ta-da, you need those crops you just lovingly grew and harvested.
Around the final Magical Gate is a bunch of rock that can be harvested and a cooking stove. You’ll want to mine this rock because one, you’ll get some coal that will be used on the stove and two, you’ll get a Veggie Pasta recipe out of it that’s about to be perfect for your final puzzle.
Using the new recipe you just unlocked, place all three ingredients (Carrot, Wheat, and Tomato) into the cooking pot and rustle up a three-star Veggie Pasta meal. Once you’ve done that, the third Magical Gate will disappear and you’re ready to retrieve the Orb of Power.
How to get Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Orb of Power
Using our walkthrough, you’ve completed all three puzzles and riddles located inside the Mystical Cave. Now you can descend into the cave where you’ll reach a pool of water. Aim your fishing rod at the gold ring in the water and reel in the Orb of Power just like you would a normal fish. Take the Orb of Power back outside the entrance of the Mystical Cave where the misty, dark Pillar of Power awaits. Insert the Orb of Power and activate the pillar, freeing it of its cursed magic.
You’ll then be prompted to return to the Cursed Cave to speak to Ursula followed by a quick talk with Merlin and you’ll have officially completed the ‘With Great Power’ quest. Congratulations.
