Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Dimps have revealed Dragon Ball: The Breakers as their upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game. Set in the Dragon Ball: Xenoverse universe, the title pits seven Survivors against one Raider, positioning itself closer to games like Dead by Daylight. It’s a rather interesting turn for the IP and one that has players wondering about the title’s release date.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers doesn’t yet have a fixed release date, but its announcement did offer a broad window of when we can expect it to go live.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers’ release window is currently scheduled for some time in 2022, which is when it will launch on PC (via Steam), Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also be compatible with the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles.
In it, the seven players assigned to the Survivor team find themselves stuck inside a so-called Temporal Seam, which they have to escape by using the Super Time Machine. The Raider hunts them down using characters like Cell, Frieza, or Buu, capable of wielding overwhelming power and devastating abilities.

Survivors have to cooperate while using different power-up items, weapons, and pilotable vehicles as they attempt to make their escape. The title’s map will seemingly also feature destructible areas. Survivors can also customize their characters using skins and other cosmetics earned by playing or through premium in-game purchases.
The game will also allow players to link their save data with Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, although no details were provided as to how that will work. PC players will also be able to take part in a closed beta test which will be detailed “soon.”
We expect to learn more about Dragon Ball: The Breakers’ release date going into the next year and will update this article as soon as we hear more about the upcoming title. In the meantime, have a look at its announcement trailer below.
