Dragon’s Dogma 2 puts us in the role of an Arisen once more, pitting us against a variety of nasty beasties. Facing legendary monsters alone can sound rather daunting, which is why you may be wondering if multiplayer or co-op support might be planned for launch.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 multiplayer would enable us to adventure alongside friends or strangers and potentially coordinate better when facing some of the game’s more challenging monsters. Unfortunately, if you count among those expecting it at launch, we have bad news.
Dragon's Dogma 2 Multiplayer
Having shown the game during May 2023’s PlayStation Showcase, publisher and developer Capcom has also clarified that Dragon’s Dogma 2 co-op isn’t planned.
The title is described “a single player, narrative driven action-RPG that challenges players to choose their own experience.”

Furthermore, Pawns are set to make a comeback. The AI companions were a central pillar of the original and part of what helped it set itself apart form other action-RPGs.
The inclusion of co-op or multiplayer would likely reduce the number of Pawns we could recruit, potentially lessening their impact.
If Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to ever receive multiplayer or co-op, it looks like that could only happen after launch.
However, since the developer hasn’t mentioned any plans to introduce the features, and considering how well the original worked as a single-player game, we may have to tackle these new challenges against our and our friends’ AI-controlled Pawns.
Should anything change, we’ll be sure to update this article. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
