Publisher and developer Techland today announced that Dying Light 2’s update 1.3.0 is slated to go live this week, adding the long-awaited new game+ mode alongside a host of co-op fixes and more.
Dying Light 2’s new game plus mode will be available to all players upon completing the main story, allowing them to start Aiden’s adventure once more while holding onto most of their skills, upgrades, and gear. One notable exception is the various Nightrunner gear, like the paraglider and grappling hook, which you’ll have to unlock again.
New game + gives players the opportunity to make different choices during Dying Light 2’s narrative and experience their outcomes. Enemies scale to match Aiden’s strength while 30 new inhibitors are spread across the game’s map.
New encounters with golden marks will challenge you, while the Something Big Has Been Here quest introduces new infected whose attacks you’ll have to learn. Emerging victorious can get you legendary rarity weapons alongside other valuables.
One cool detail is how, when update 1.3.0 launches, players going through Dying Light 2’s new game plus will be able to co-op with those going through the story for the first time.
Dying Light 2’s update 1.3.0 goes live on April 27, also introducing an FOV slider for the game’s console version. You can learn more about it in the video below.
Techland has also promised 5 years’ worth of post-launch content for its latest title, as detailed in its roadmap, so there’s a good chance this won’t be the last update we’ll hear about.
