Elex 2 capitalizes on the freedom of its predecessor, returning to the world of Magalan and tasking players with uniting its people against the Skyands. Developer Piranha Bytes has had a dedicated fan base since the Gothic days, which is why players are wondering if its latest RPG might be available on Xbox Game Pass and its PC counterpart in 2022.
Although Elex 2 should feel familiar if you’ve played the original, new additions like the jetpack change the way in which you traverse its vast open world. Meaningful conversations give further reasons why you might consider picking it up and, below, we clarify if you can play it through PC or Xbox Game Pass.
Microsoft’s popular subscription service was not mentioned during the game’s pre-release marketing campaign, which makes it unlikely that we’ll see the RPG on it at launch. This means that those planning to play Elex II right away will have to pick the traditional purchase route.
Developer Piranha Bytes’ games have yet to make it to the service but, while Elex 2 might not be on PC Game Pass at launch, things can, nevertheless, change in the future.
- Elex II Xbox/PC Game Pass Availability: Not on the service at launch, may come later
Many games have joined Microsoft’s subscription service after release. Furthermore, we’ve seen titles like Total War: Warhammer III become the first in the series to do so.
With a bit of luck, Elex II could play the same role at some point further down the line. There’s no official word if or when this might happen, but you can be certain that we’ll update this article as soon as we learn more.
While we wait, check out our Elex II review for our full thoughts on the game.
