Enshrouded has firmly established itself as one of 2024’s survival hits, and developers Keen Games has shared its roadmap for the rest of 2024, which it hopes will address any major concerns players have about the content that will be coming this year.
While the team has been internally mapping out the future of Enshrouded, everyone was asked to wait a bit longer than the previously mentioned two weeks to discover how its content will develop in the upcoming months.
Enshrouded Roadmap 2024
The roadmap for 2024 has now been revealed, and there’s a lot to unpack, but most of it has been revealed in the image above.
We can see Hallow Hall dungeons, Steam Deck support, workshops being able to craft from magic chests, sitting on furniture to improve comfort, round doors and windows, potted plants, replayable quests, townsfolk NPCs, a vanity system, editable signs, musical instruments, pets, animal farms, enemy patrols, weather systems, mountain biomes, new enemies and bosses and more.
Keen Games plans to add World Events and more biomes later in the year, including water. Hopefully, we will be able to build boats too.
It looks like console versions won’t be released until at least 2025, nearer the time of its exit out of early access.
“[…] we’re working on our roadmap internally,” the developer confirmed, replying to a Steam discussions thread on the matter. “We’re curious to see what features and improvements people are interested in (see official website), and of course we want to ensure we take care of all major issues (crashes and consorts) before we move onto the topic of what’s coming next.”
Since launch, the developers have deployed several hotfixes that tackled critical issues, including crashes and stutters. We later learned that this roadmap wouldn’t appear until the 13th of March.
At the same time, should anything else take priority, we may have to wait longer before we hear about upcoming content patches and features.
On February 9, 2023, Keen Games revealed that personal server progression and quest log improvements are part of Enshrouded’s roadmap, although it did not provide an exact launch date.
Other additions being considered include tools for server rights management alongside the ability to spawn NPCs in all our bases.
The first major update for Enshrouded released on the 26th of March, named Hollow Hills, it added a bunch of new content including four new dungeons, an enemy faction, and much more.
The good news is that barring optimization issues on certain hardware, Enshrouded seems to have landed on the stabler side of early access survival game releases, currently sitting at a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.
