Whether you’re looking to decorate your home with cozy candles or light your way through the darkness with a more potent torch, you’ll want to learn how to get wax in Enshrouded.
One of many types of materials spread throughout the survival game, you will have the opportunity to collect it as soon as you set foot in the first biome, provided you carefully examine your surroundings.
How to Get Wax in Enshrouded
In Enshrouded, wax drops from beehives found hanging from trees. They shouldn’t be too hard to spot, but, if you’re having trouble finding them, the screenshots above show you what to look for.
Beehives seem to spawn randomly, but with a few spare slots in your inventory and enough patience, you’ll end up getting enough wax by simply harvesting it as you roam the map to complete quests.
You can harvest the beehives that are within reach as you would plants or twigs, by simply interacting with them.
In some cases, you will see several hanging from a single tree or find one that happens to be out of reach. Here, jumping helps but chopping down the tree is by far the quicker solution.
Aside from wax, Enshrouded’s beehives also occasionally drop honey, another resource you’ll want to collect.
One thing to note is that, occasionally, harvesting beehives will spawn an angry swarm of bees that, as you probably expect, won’t be too happy with you stealing from them.
The ones we’ve encountered so far die fairly easily, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble with them as long as you don’t completely ignore them.
Enshrouded’s wax is used to craft illumination items like candles, which increase comfort, and wax torches, which help light the way in dark environments.
