Hotfix 1.30.3 has now been released for Europa Universalis 4. This patch for the Austria Update skips balance and gameplay changes altogether and focuses entirely on bug fixes. Considering that the game is already very stable, these are mostly pretty minor issues introduced with 1.30.0.
With that said, one notable absence is any trace of a fix for the AI bankrupting itself on a semi-regular basis due to some issue with AI Building and AI Development. As we noted in our Austria Update review, this can cause at peace nations to hit 30,000 plus ducats in debt that handicaps them for decades.
There isn’t a huge amount of patch notes today - at least by Paradox standards - but we’ve gone through and picked out what could be considered key below.
EU4 Patch Notes - 1.30.3 Austria Update Hotfix
- AI won't push through the entire council of trent in one day anymore
- British and Spanish missions that require passing an HRE reform are now updated for Emperor
- Fixed Peace treaty to enforce peasant republic on others
- Fixed bug where it wouldn't give full payout in gold peace treaty
- Fixed no tier 3 gov reforms for rev empires without emperor dlc
- Hotkey for Attach army no longer overlaps, it is now 'h'. You might need to reset hotkeys through the new manager to make it work
- Italian nations must now lose a war to the Emperor to be considered reined in for Shadow Kingdom, rather than losing any war*
- Pope should now always be Catholic when released as a vassal
- Updated location of Genoa trade node for All Your Trade achievement
- Fixed bug with how scaling reform desire modifier was applied
- The never-ending Savonarola disaster is now fixed (This was missed in patch notes but confirmed in forum)
- Automatic input of "f" in the search box is now fixed (This was missed in patch notes but confirmed in forum)
*In relation to the Shadow Kingdom fix, the develpers went on to confirm that the Emperor must be the one offering the peace treaty for it to count, and added 4 more ways to rein nations in including:
- Have an alliance with the Emperor.
- Is a subject of the Emperor.
- Is a Free City.
- Has at least 150 opinion of the Emperor.
