It’s time to hit the road and see what the Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.51 update has brought to the popular trucking sim. The short version is that the Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.51 Patch is a pretty big one. The SCS Software sim not only brings a haul of new content but also reworked map sections, UI changes, bug squashes, and more.
One of the most notable additions is an overhaul of German maps. Bremen, Kassel, Osnabruck, and Magdeburg receive new and improved road networks, more accurate industry areas, and new landmarks. This reworking is free as part of the 1.51 update.

Elsewhere, there’s a reworked, streamlined title screen and other Quality of Life changes that make things much clearer for players. The intros for cities in the Italia and Beyond the Baltic Sea DLCs have been given new versions, further freshening up the game for veteran players in small but impactful ways.
Beyond that, there are improvements to the shadows for truck interiors and a revamped controller config for those who prefer trucking with a controller over a mouse and keyboard. SCS does warn it may mess with your current custom controller configuration, so be sure to check your settings after this update.
It’s a healthy update that makes the game that bit more accessible, and could see it further grow its fanbase, which has already backed Euro Truck Simulator 2 to an Overwhelmingly Positive review score on Steam from nearly 600,000 users.
