Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Gust Studios today revealed further details regarding upcoming JRPG Fairy Tail’s story arcs.
Fairy Tail will tap into the canon established by both Hiro Mashima’s manga and the anime series it inspired, picking select episodes from it, alongside featuring the Tenrou Island arc, the Grand Magic Games arc, and the Tartaros arc.
Fairy Tail Story Arcs
“The game’s plot focuses on the time period about half way through the anime and revolves around the FAIRY TAIL guild’s near demise after the mysterious absence of Natsu’s party. The guild’s prestige has plummeted in the years since they’ve been gone and is drowning in debt.”, a press release reads.
“Thankfully, Natsu and his crew of mages are back and ready to return FAIRY TAIL to its glory days by joining the Grand Magic Games and competing for top guild.”, it continues.
Alongside detailing Fairy Tail’s story arcs, the announcement also included the names of two new playable characters. Thus, “The Iron Dragon Slayer” Gajeel Redfox and “The User of Water” Juvia Lockser join the roster that’s made up of 10+ unique characters.
Fairy Tail is scheduled to launch in 2020 on PC, via Steam, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. You’ll find more information about the title on the publisher’s website.
