Fallout 76 will have you chasing a plethora of materials during your time in Appalachia and Black Titanium counts among the rarer ones you’ll have to track down. Required during the Miner Miracles quest and used to craft the Excavator Power Armor it is, thankfully, found in several locations across the world.
The town of Welch in the Ash Heap region is a good start for your Black Titanium hunt in Fallout 76. In it, you’ll find a vending machine that sells maps which direct you towards several mining sites, from which you can obtain the resource. You may also bump into Mole Miners, which are another good source of Black Titanium.
Mole Miners can drop Miner suit scraps. When they’re broken down into their component parts, they grant Black Titanium. It’s worth keeping an eye out for Mole Miners at all times, but if you’re looking for locations in which they’re more or less guaranteed to spawn you’ll find some in the list below:
- The Rusty Pick
- Mount Blair
- Top of the World
- Lucky Hole Mine
- Burning Mine
- Blackwater Mine
Quite a few Miner suit scraps can be found around the Garrahan Mining Headquarters, where you pick up the Miner Miracles quest. To craft the excavator power armor, you’ll need 36 pieces of Black Titanium, which you can also obtain from other sources in Fallout 76. Subsequent upgrades require 42, and 54 piece, respectively.
Veins spread across Apallachia can yield Black Titanium Ore. Using 3 pieces of it and 4 recipients of Acid at a Chemistry Station grants 2 pieces of Black Titanium scrap. You can also find Black Titanium on the corpses of Deathclaws inhabiting an island north of the Mothman Museum, provided you can kill them.
Fallout 76’s Black Titanium has other applications as well and can be used to repair the excavator power armor and craft a handful of other items.
