The iconic Fallout faction the Brotherhood of Steel returns in the latest game in the series Fallout 76, but how do you find and complete the Fallout 76 Brotherhood of Steel quest and join the faction itself?

We'll show you. Be warned, you'll have to be at least level 20, since you'll be venturing far to the north-east of the Mire region, which is no walk in the park - in fact it's one of the hardest areas in Fallout 76. Still, if you want to join the Brotherhood of Steel, this is how to do it.

How to Complete the Fallout 76 Brotherhood of Steel Quest

Right in the very north-east corner of the map is Abbie's Bunker. Head here and hack the terminal (you don't need to be a high hacking skill). Look for Abbie's terminal and search for info on Fort Defiance - this will start the quest "Defiance Has Fallen".

You'll then have to travel far to the south of The Mire to Camp Venture. There's a bunkhouse here with a locker that you can pick to get the secure storage key. Head to the VEST building on the lower part of the camp, which you can now unlock the basement of. There's a command centre password on a note you'll need. Now head to the command centre, which you now have the password to get inside. Find the "Letter to Tommy" which gives the location of Fort Defiance.

Fort Defiance is on the edge of the Cranberry Bog and Savage Divide region, inside the Allegheny Asylum. You'll need to restore power to get inside the Fort itself. Explore the asylum's upper floors until you see the power lines, then follow them to the circuit breaker. Go to the main level, enter the Fort, and read the note on the board. This will complete the Defiance Has Fallen quest!
