Fallout 76’s Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event is becoming a semi-regular occurrence, giving players more chances to obtain cool loot while exploring Appalachia. But what are its start and end dates?
As part of the Fallout 76 Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event, players will encounter legendary Treasure Hunter Mole Miners. Initially, they were only in the Ash Heap region, but the second event saw them appearing all over Appalachia.
They make a distinct sound that’s particularly helpful for tracking them down and can drop rewards spread across three tiers: Dusty Mole Miner Pails (low), Mole Miner Pails (medium), and Ornate Mole Miner Pails (high).

Higher quality Pails have an increased chance at offering rare loot which includes various outfits, and plans. They cannot be sold to vendors but can be traded to other players.
Fallout 76’s Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event also lets you craft your own Pails. You can buy Empty Mole Miner Pails from vendors using Caps, then combine them with other materials to craft Pails belonging to one of the three tiers mentioned above.
Reddit user gilpo1 has datamined the full list of event rewards alongside the odds of getting them using pails and put them in a handy spreadsheet.
Starting with the second Fallout 76’s Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event, Treasure Hunter Mole Miners began having their level adjusted up to 50 after the One Wasteland update introduced dynamic level scaling.
This change led to them dropping legendary loot that’s better suited for the player character’s level. The event’s rewards were also added to a separate pool and featured new, exclusive items.
Ornate Mole Miner Pails received increased drop chances, while lower quality Pails started yielding rewards exclusive to the Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event. Pails also stopped being tradeable.
Lastly, the vendor price of components used for player-crafted Mole Miner Pails was also reduced. All these changes carry over into the third event, which doesn’t seem to bring any of its own.
