Fallout 76 Patch 9 is scheduled to go live next week and Bethesda has detailed the main additions coming to Appalachia. Starting with May 7, when the patch officially drops, players will have access to Fallout 76 Vending Machines, which will essentially allow them to turn their camp into shops and exercise some of that wasteland entrepreneur flair.
If you happen to have a stash filled with legendary items you don’t need, the introduction of Fallout 76 Legendary Exchange Machines will also be good news. These new machines will offer a chance at turning your unwanted legendary items into other, potentially more useful ones.
Patch 9 Adds Player Vending Machines

As soon as the Fallout 76 Patch 9 drops, players will be able to build personal Fallout 76 Vending Machines, which can be placed in their C.A.M.P., turning it into a market.
Items from the stash, regardless if crafted or found, can be assigned to these Vending Machines with a specified Cap price. Other players visiting your camp can, then, purchase these items from you. Naturally, you’ll also be able to peruse others’ wares by visiting their Vending Machines.
A 10% tax will be take from each transaction. When an item is sold, you’ll get a notification while earned Caps will be automatically added to your balance. Once you’ve built and powered a Vending Machine, the location of your C.A.M.P will appear on other players’ maps. Hovering over the map location will show your name, icon, but also the amount and type of items you have in your Fallout 76 Vending Machine.
Legendary Exchange Machines

Fallout 76 Legendary Exchange Machines will be added to Appalachia’s train stations when the Fallout 76 Patch 9 drops next week. These machines are tied to a new NPC that will also arrive in Appalachia, The Purveyor, who sells legendary items.
Taking your unwanted legendaries to a Legendary Exchange Machine will turn them into a new resource called Legendary Scrip. Legendaries with a higher star rating reward more Scrip. This new resource is the currency used by the Purveyor, who doesn’t accept Caps. The more Scrip you have, the more legendaries you can buy off her.
Alongside these two new machines, Fallout 76 Patch 9 will also add the Survival Score stat for the mode’s scoreboards, while a number of weapons are seeing a handful of changes. Bethesda also noted that Display Cases will require a bit more testing, arriving “a few weeks after we release Patch 9”.
