Fallout 76’s Strange Bedfellows quest is just one of several new adventures added to Bethesda’s multiplayer RPG in its free Wastelanders update.
As Wastelanders introduces two main human NPC factions, the Strange Bedfellows quest revolves around getting on the Raiders’ good side. To kick things off, you’ll have to pay Rose a visit at the Top of the World.
Fallout 76 Strange Bedfellows
The first step of Fallout 76’s Strange Bedfellows quest involves finding the trophy of former Raider leader David Thorpe. Its location will be conveniently marked on your map. Simply enter the house, head upstairs and you’ll find it in the bedroom.
Rose also asks you to find one of David’s original programs at Rosalyn’s memorial. The problem is, Rose can’t tell you where it is off the bat. Luckily, in the same room as the trophy, you’ll find a postcard. Investigate its back and you’ll uncover that the memorial can be found at Ripper Alley.
Follow the market and get the AI program from a ridge near West Tek research center. You might have to fight off a Deathclaw before getting access to the shrine with the AI program. Once you’ve picked it up, you’re going to have to repair it.
Head to the new marker at Solomon’s Pond and dispatch the enemies. Upon reaching the terminal, you’ll find that you need a password.
Head outside, kill Agent Kensington and take the password from the portable toilet. Head back in and use the terminal to repair the AI program. Now it’s time to go back to Rose.
Sadly, you’re not done just yet with Fallout 76’s Strange Bedfellows quest. For the next step, you’ll need to go to Arktos Pharma and find a holotape that features David saying the word “negotiate”.
Simply follow the marker while dispatching the building’s robotic guards. With the holotape in your possession, it’s time to head back to Rose yet again.
Next, you’ll have to take the holotape to a marked relay tower and use it on the marked terminal. Before you get it, however, you’ll likely have to deal with Super Mutants. Now that Meg is being called your way, you’ll have to go back to Rose.
Talk to her, then clear the mezzanine on the second floor. Soon after, Meg should arrive. Speak to her. You can convince her to innoculate her people against the Scorched Plague if you pass two Intelligence or Charisma checks of 8, then 12. This ends the Strange Bedfellows quest.
Otherwise, you’ll have to head out to where a squad of her raiders are attempting to get rid of the Scorched using brute force. Once you reach the marked spot, you’ll find that things didn’t go so well for the Raiders.
Kill the Scorched and Scorchbeast, then enter the trailer to find Aldrige, the lieutenant leading the attack. He’s wounded and you can choose between killing and sparing him.
Regardless of your choice, you’ll head back to Meg and tell her what happened. Understanding the danger the plague poses, she’ll accept to her people being inoculated, which completes Fallout 76’s Strange Bedfellows quest.
