Far Cry New Dawn may throw players into a Hope County that’s recovering from nuclear winter, but that doesn’t mean they’ll have to take down the Twins using just sticks and stones.
Carrying over the series’ tradition, the upcoming FPS will feature an entire arsenal of weapons, albeit with more of a makeshift flair than previous games. From plain old flamethrowers to sniper rifles using valve handles to zoom their scopes in, here’s a list of weapons confirmed for Far Cry New Dawn.
What Weapons will be featured in Far Cry New Dawn?
Assault Rifle

One of the most common weapons in first-person shooters, and anything but a stranger to the series, the Assault Rifle makes it into Far Cry New Dawn. There are bound to be more variants, but the one above comes equipped with an ACOG scope and, most likely, has a fairly quick rate of fire.
Flamethrowers

When bullets aren’t enough, or when Highwaymen ditch the open road to hide inside a hut, a Flamethrower is enough to burn everything to a crisp. Fire works about the same in the post-apocalypse.
Flare Guns

While we don’t yet know if Far Cry New Dawn lets us use Flare Guns as another means of “warming up” enemies, the trailer shows someone firing one into the air, most likely to call for help. That’s basically a weapon for calling more weapons to the fight which, in my book, totally counts.
Grenade Launchers

What could such an innocent-looking tube do? Blow stuff up while making you look cool, that’s what. The Grenade Launcher returns in Far Cry New Dawn for your long distance grenade-throwing needs.
LMGs

Silently dispatching opponents is a valid strategy, but so is filling them up with holes while causing quite the ruckus. LMGs, more specifically the M249, will allow you to do just that.
Melee Weapons

I did say that Far Cry New Dawn wouldn’t make you take back Hope County with just sticks and stones, but if you’re a fan of sticks, it won’t stop you from it either. Whether it’s shanks, baseball bats, shovels or pipes, there’s a decent variety of melee weapons with which you can bash enemies.
Pistols

Pistols weren’t prominently featured in Far Cry New Dawn’s promotional material, but one that looks very close to a Colt 1911 can be spotted in the pictures above, alongside some kind of revolver.
Recurve Bows

The star of Far Cry 3 and a favored stealth weapon ever since, the Recurve Bow won’t miss out on this post-apocalyptic romp, even if it looks a bit rustier.
Rocket Launchers

Like Grenade Launchers, but firing bigger “grenades” in a straight line, Rocket Launchers are most likely in Far Cry New Dawn to make sure its explosion quota is met.
Saw Launchers

Arguably one of the most eye-catching weapons in Far Cry New Dawn, the Saw Launcher’s name is pretty self explanatory. The weapon is what results when you take a hand crossbow and modify it to fire small sawblades instead of boring old bolts.
Shotguns

The Far Cry New Dawn Announcement Trailer reveals that at least two types of shotguns have made it into the game. The reliable Pump Action Shotgun, for when you’ve more stuff to kill, alongside a Sawed-off variant for when you need that extra cool factor.
SMGs

Another weapon type easily wieldable with just one hand, there’s at least one type of SMG in Far Cry New Dawn and it resembles the real life Skorpion SMG.
Sniper Rifles
Pick a vantage point, zoom your scope in using that nifty valve handle and take enemies out from afar. That’s what Sniper Rifles are for.
