FFXIV’s In the Dark of Night quest is the second in a chain of three you’ll need to complete in order to get a shot at obtaining all the limited-time rewards available during the A Nocturne for Heroes 2021 event.
You pick up Final Fantasy 14’s In the Dark of Night quest from Kipih Jakkya, which waits in the same spot inside Ul’dah as when you started The Man in Black, after which you’ll have to head to New Gridania and track down three characters.
The Aetheryte network will make getting around the city easier. Mitainie waits near the Lancers’ Guild Aetheryte Shard while Hadrefort is near the Leatherworkers’ Guild Aetheryte Shard, at the Rosewood Stalls.
Lastly, Roustebant waits near the White Wolf gate, so your best bet is the Aetheryte Plaza. Once you’ve spoken to all three, head back to Kipih, near the Min Khetto’s Amphitheatre Aetheryte Shard, for the next step in FFXIV’s In the Dark of Night quest.
You’ll be off to East Shroud, north of The Hawthorne Hut, looking for a destination that’s found at the northwest side of the red circle that appears on the map, towards its edge. Survey the area, then enter the duty which requires you to defeat Iseultalon.
This boss fight isn’t overly complicated, but you’ll have to look out for its wide AoEs, while dodging the line attack that seems to strikes twice. Lastly, you’ll want to soak one of the two pillars that appear, as Noctis will cover the other.
After the cutscene, speak to Kipih again, then with Noctis, who you’ll find near the New Gridania Aetheryte Plaza. This completes Final Fantasy 14’s In the Dark of Night quest, earning you experience, Gil, and the Lucian Prince’s Bottoms.
