FFXIV’s patch 6.1 will be the first major content drop the MMORPG receives following the launch of its Endwalker expansion, making its release date something a thing of great interest for players who’ve seen the Hydaelyn/Zodiark story arc to its end.
Final Fantasy 14’s patch 6.1 will introduce a new series of quests, which usually continue from where the expansion left off. Given its role in the Hydaelyn/Zodiark ark, the MMORPG should be headed for interesting territory.
A new 5v5 PvP mode called Crystalline Conflict is also on the way, alongside a new PvP rewards system and various improvements.
Players can also look forward to the Myths of the Realm alliance raid, new Hildibrand quests, a new ultimate duty named Dragonsong’s Reprise, as well as a trial called The Minstrel’s Ballad: Endsinger’s Aria.
Square Enix didn’t initially discuss the exact release date of Final Fantasy 14’s patch 6.1 just yet, but past launches let us approximate when it might go live.
Similar patches have launched around four months after the expansion’s release, which is just enough to give players time to go through all the new content that was introduced.
It was unclear how or if the expansion’s delay will impact this, and we initially estimated that, if things follow a similar pattern, we should see the patch hit live servers around late March or April.
Producer Naoki Yoshida later confirmed, in a livestream from February, that the patch is expected to launch in April, while noting that pinpointing an exact date is difficult at the moment.
Early March brought with it the announcement that FFXIV Patch 6.1’s release date was scheduled for mid-April.
On April 1, Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 6.1 had locked down its release date to April 12, premiering a new trailer for the patch.
