As an open-world action-RPG, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn treads familiar territory for developer A44 Games, who cut its teeth on the genre with its previous title, Ashen, which received its fair share of acclaim. This alone makes fans of the team’s work curious about the follow-up’s release date.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn’s release date will, however, also see players exploring a new world – divided into three areas, each with its own architectural styles – while putting axe, gun, and magic to good use. Their goal? Ensuring humanity’s survival while fighting the gods and their undead army.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn’s announcement was accompanied by the news that the title’s release date was initially meant to occur at some point in 2022.
Although publisher Kepler Interactive didn’t provide a set date, it later revealed – during the Xbox/Bethesda showcase in June 2022 – that the game’s launch had been pushed back to early 2023.

At the same time, a new trailer was released, showing off more gameplay and giving us a better look at how protagonist Nor Vanek’s hybrid combat style is complemented by her companion Enki’s abilities.
The title ended up also missing that launch window. In June 2023, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn’s release date was delayed until 2024.
“To make Flintlock the absolute best experience it can be at launch, we have made the decision to move the game’s release to 2024,” reads a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account.
“It’s important to our whole team that Flintlock is a special experience, and we owe it to ourselves and to all of you who have been following the game since we announced to make it the most impressive and unforgettable game it can be.”
The action-RPG is headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. Those who’ve made Xbox Game Pass a part of their gaming habits also have good news coming their way.
We expect to learn more about Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and its release date over the coming months. In the meantime, check out its gameplay trailer below.
