Publisher Curve Games and developer IronOak Games today announced that turn-based roguelike RPG For the King 2 is getting a closed beta whose start and end dates are just around the corner.
For the King 2 builds upon the first game’s foundation, fleshing out its blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements. Up to four players can team up and set off on new adventures, fighting new threats and likely dying a whole lot.

For the King II’s closed beta has locked down its start date to May 10, 2023. It is then slated to end on May 16, giving lucky players a bit under a week to see how the sequel plays at this stage in development.

As far as content goes, it will include the first of five planned adventures, which can be played in both single-player and multiplayer.
We’ll be able to pick between six classes, each of which has its own strengths and weaknesses. Four of them – Blacksmith, Scholar, Hunter, Stableboy – are available right away, while the Herbalist and Alchemist can be unlocked by playing.
To sign up, all you need to do is click the Request Access button on the game’s Steam page and hope that you count amount the lucky players who make it in.

“This Closed Beta will help us understand how the game performs live with all of the variables that come with the real world player experience. We are expecting to uncover bugs and stability issues as well as receive valuable player feedback to allow us to polish and buff the game. We can’t wait to hear what the community think about For The King II.”
For the King II is slated to launch on PC, via Steam, at some point in 2023.
