When does Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 end and Season 4 begin? What are their end and start dates? If you’re knee-deep in the battle royale’s latest season, you’re likely asking yourself these questions.
Although Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3 has barely kicked off, knowing what its end date is happens to be pretty vital for anyone looking to grind Battle Pass rewards. The best of them tend to be found far into the reward track and you’ll likely want to nab them before the Season 4 start date.
Currently, the Season 3 end date and Season 4 start date is slated for August 27, according to the game’s Battle Pass screen, giving it a similar length to Chapter 1’s seasons. However, the length of the past two seasons alongside some recent datamining suggest that the current Season could be extended.
When Does Fortnite Season 3 End and Season 4 Begin?
Fortnite’s past two seasons have been subject to multiple extensions, ending up lasting 128 and 118 days, respectively. Chapter 1 seasons were considerably shorter, hovering above the 70-day mark.
Adding to this are recent tweets by Fortnite YouTuber FireMonkey, who discovered 12 weeks’ worth of challenges in the game’s files, hinting at a potential Season 3 end date of September 3.

Shocking, day 2 and here I am mentioning this lmao.
The season is set to end on August 26th, however we have 12 weeks worth of challenges.
Week 12 is on September 3rd, a week after Season 3 is supposed to end. pic.twitter.com/cjDG3tXdlQ
Currently the schedule has up to Week 9 [Week 10 is misspelled in the schedule, so if they don't fix it that will be broken lol] but why would they add an extra 2 weeks worth of challenges if the season is to end before we would even get them? pic.twitter.com/JG9eMih5YT

Whether the extra challenges actually mean that Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 4 will begin on September 3 or are simply there as a precaution, should anything unexpected happen, remains to be seen.
Fortnite’s Chapter 2: Season 3 is now live, submerging a part of the map while bringing sharks to ride, gnomes to find and cars to drive over its course.
