How can you ride and loot Fortnite Sharks? Where can you find them? If you’ve been spending your time in the battle royale’s freshly-launched Chapter 2 Season 3 you’ll likely have noticed them roaming around the map.
Fortnite Sharks, also going by Loot Sharks, can be found exclusively in the water, for the most part. As a good portion of the map is now submerged, you shouldn’t have trouble eventually spotting one of them. Once you do, you’ve the option of either riding or looting them.
Looting a Fortnite Shark first requires you to defeat it, a task for which guns are surprisingly useful. That being said, sharks can take a serious beating before they surrender their loot and can even hop onto land to attempt to take a bite out of you.
How to loot and ride Fortnite Sharks
If Fortnite Sharks do bite you, they’ll take a sizeable chunk out of your health, so it’s best to keep your distance as much as possible and come equipped with lots of ammo. Defeating them can be very much worth it, as they can drop rarer loot.
Riding Fortnite Sharks is the go-to choice for pacifists but can’t be done using your bare hands. Instead, you’ll need a Fishing Rod, found in barrels, usually in locations close to the water, and even some chests.
Once you’ve found a Fishing Rod, use it near water to throw a line. If there’s a Fortnite Shark nearby, it should grab it, at which point you’ll sport skis and gain full control of it. Better yet, you can also fire back at enemies while riding sharks, which is pretty badass.
