Publisher and developer D&A Studios today unveiled a new trailer for upcoming single-player ghost hunting game Among The Whispers - Provocation, showcasing parts of its manor alongside some of the tools we’ll use to track down its supernatural denizens.
At the same time, the developer also shared a playable demo, giving us a chance to put on our paranormal investigator hats and get a taste of what’s to come.
Among The Whispers - Provocation Trailer and Demo
In addition to emphasising the solo investigator experience, Among the Whispers—Provocation uses randomly generated ghost encounters to shake things up from a gameplay perspective.
An array of gadgets, from microphones to EMF meters, recorders, and more, allow us to pick up clues that gradually reveal the nature of the supernatural entities roaming the manor.
Rather than focus on jump scares – which may still be present throughout the game – Among the Whispers - Provocation is centered instead on “truly learning about a haunted family and their past.”
Its four-story mansion gives us over 30 rooms to explore while learning “about the dark secrets it has been hiding for generations.”
Once we piece together what keeps the ghosts trapped in our reality, provocations allow us “to coax the dead in various ways to communicate or manifest,” although doing so without the proper preparation “can lead to psychological consequences that could make the investigation harder.”
Although Among the Whispers - Provocation doesn’t yet have a launch date, you can learn more about the game and try out its demo from its Steam page.
