Ghost of Tsushima has firmly established itself as one of the standout titles on PlayStation 5, due to its unique setting, visually striking aesthetics, dynamic combat, and engrossing narrative. Consequently, it’s no surprise that a PC release date has been eagerly anticipated by players since the game’s initial debut in July 2020.
Ghost of Tsushima, a compelling narrative that brings to life the story of Jin Sakai, a samurai confronted with bleak realities in the wake of the Mongol invasion of his homeland, stands as a masterful blend of action and stealth gaming.
Equipped with a lethal blade, stealth tactics, and an array of both subtle and explosive gadgets, Jin courageously faces the Mongol forces spreading chaos across his island.
In response to burgeoning interest, we have gathered all the currently available information about the eagerly awaited Ghost of Tsushima PC release date.
Ghost of Tsushima PC Release Date
Ghost of Tsushima will be released for the PC on the 16th May, so the game is finally shedding its PlayStation exclusivity status and arriving on PC platforms like Steam.
In recent years, Sony has shifted its stance as far as releasing its games on PC goes, and we’ve seen major titles such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure making the jump.

Nick Baker of Xbox Era recently suggested that an announcement regarding a PC release date could be imminent, potentially arriving as soon as tomorrow, March 5th.
“I’m hearing that we might be getting something about the Ghost of Tsushima PC port pretty soon. Maybe around the 5th?” said Baker on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Baker previously predicted several different announcements that came out from Sony‘s recent State of Play presentation, so we expect this information to be fairly accurate.
It’s been four years since Ghost of Tsushima released on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, so we’re excited to see it finally arrive on PC.
In an interview from May 2023 with Famitsu, translated by ResetEra, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan suggested that, while PC ports remain part of the company’s strategy, they may continue to launch years after the PS5 versions.
“We also fully understand the importance of PS5 exclusive titles. As I mentioned earlier, PlayStation Studios’ main responsibility is to have people enjoy the game experience using the latest PS. We are increasing the number of PS5-exclusive titles and staggering the release of the PC version,” Ryan said.
“I often have the opportunity to ask game fans for their opinions, and when I ask them about the time lag, they say that selling the PC version two or three years after the release of the PS version is accepted favorably.”
This leads us to believe that Sucker Punch Productions’ open-world game would follow suit shortly.
As opposed to Returnal, we haven’t seen leaks pointing towards a PC version of Ghost of Tsushima just yet. Official announcements also tend to come relatively close to the launch proper, so we’ll have to be patient, but at least now we know for sure when its arriving. The 16th May!
