Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting its first trailer this December, Rockstar Games has confirmed.
GTA 6’s reveal is set to happen as Rockstar Games celebrates its 25th anniversary, making December an important month for the studio.
Grand Theft Auto 6 First Trailer Reveal Announcement
“We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto,” reads a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, signed by Rockstar’s President and Co-founder Sam Houser. “We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”
The last sentence also suggests that GTA 6’s marketing campaign could finally start picking up speed as we head into 2024.
News of the highly-anticipated title’s revealed was first shared by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.
After the article went live, Take-Two Interactive’s stock increased by +1.50%, and was expected to reach 2.9% during the latter part of the day.
The road to Grand Theft Auto 6’s official announcement had its bumps, the most notable of which came in the shape of a leak that saw gameplay taken from an in-development build being posted online.
The stock market response to the title’s announcement, much like the massive amount of fan hype surrounding it, stems from Rockstar Games’ unique approach to developing open-world titles.
Not only do they blend high levels of freedom with top-notch action and memorable characters, but the studio is known for paying attention to plenty of small details that help bring its titles to life.
GTA V was touted as the most profitable entertainment product of all time back in 2018 and still has a large active playerbase, thanks to its widely popular online mode.
With Grand Theft Auto 6’s reveal now confirmed in December, one has to wonder if Rockstar Games might have dedicated more resources to a potential online component. It’s possible that we will see it at the Game Awards on 7th December.
