Does Grounded feature cross-platform support? Will Grounded crossplay allow you to brave the dangers of the garden alongside pals playing on different platforms?
Grounded is Obsidian Entertainment’s first shot at a survival game in which you play as an ant-sized kid who must do their best to stay alive in their backyard. Cross-platform support has been on player’s minds since the game was announced, as the developer pitched it as an experience that can be played both alone and with friends.
With the game becoming available today through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview, Grounded crossplay enthusiasts have good news coming their way.
Grounded Cross-Platform Support
As revealed during a PAX East 2020 panel, Grounded cross-platform support will be in the game “on day 1”.
This essentially means that Xbox One and PC players will be able to play with each other through Grounded crossplay as soon as the game officially launches.
Grounded lets up to 4 players explore its backyard as shrunken children where they must battle ants, spiders and other formerly small beasts while gathering resources and building bases that they can use as shelter.
While gameplay-wise there’s plenty that’s familiar, the game’s unique perspective sets it apart from other survival games currently out there.
That whole fear of spiders thing is suddenly an even bigger concern when you’re about the size of said spider, in which case Grounded cross-platform support is quite a boon, as it lets you more easily get help without caring about platform restrictions.
You can find Grounded on Steam.
