Headsnatchers is an outlandish multiplayer party game that takes inspiration from titles like Gang Beasts and other popular 3D arena fighting games, which are normally a lot of fun to play with friends or others online.
Iceberg Interactive and developer IguanaBee announced today that it will be entering Early Access on 10th July via Steam on PC. There's a PlayStation 4 version planned too, but that won't be released until after the Early Access period.
The game is basically a series of minigames, where players can snatch each other’s cartoony heads and flush them down toilets, or slam-dunk them in the basketball arena. There seems to be a pretty good character creation tool too, allowing you to design your own head, if you don't like any of the standard ones IguanaBee has provided.
Outside of the four player multiplayer mode, there's also a singleplayer option that gives you a chance to explore the zombie castle and complete a course of challenges.
Here's what the Headsnatchers Early Access release contains:
- Online and Local Multiplayer mayhem, supporting up to 4 players
- Four game modes, 25+ unique levels of frantic fun
- Single-player Zombie mode, for when you just want some me-time
- Customize your character by choosing from 100+ loony heads
- Create your own heads using the visual editor
"We had a lot of fun showing this game at PAX East where people were in fits of laughter playing it. We are eager to start receiving players’ feedback in this early access phase and to polishing the game with final tweaks", says Erik Schreuder, CEO of Iceberg Interactive.
We usually enjoy playing these types of 3D arena fighting games, so we'll look forward to the Early Access launch of Headsnatchers. Check back soon for our full impressions as soon as we get access to a playable build.
