The World of Assassination trilogy comes to a close in Hitman 3. While the series is primarily known for single player titles, the previous entry experimented with a handful of co-op modes that have attracted the attention of those fans who also enjoy multiplayer titles.
Hitman 3 could have offered new grounds for developer IO Interactive to expand co-op and lean even more into multiplayer aspects. That, however, will not be the case.
The closest thing to multiplayer or co-op in Hitman 3 is its Contracts mode, which essentially allows players to create contracts of their own, complete them and challenge their friends to beat their score.
The Sniper Assassin mode will still allow players to try their hand at completing long-range missions on existing maps, but only in single player. Ghost Mode, sadly, is confirmed to not make another appearance.
Whether or not Hitman 3 will receive some form of co-op or multiplayer mode after launch remains to be seen. The game will keep its players busy with six new locations but also Elusive Targets and increasingly difficult Escalation Contracts.
