Humankind features several methods of improving your cities which you’ll want to take advantage of as you’re expanding your empire. Public Ceremonies are easy to overlook, being placed at the bottom of the construction menu, but can come in handy when you’re low on a given resource.
Your cities’ Districts take up space on the map while Infrastructures can only be but once. Humankind’s Public Ceremonies are different from their peers since they can be added to the queue as many times as needed without occupying any tiles on the map.
You unlock different Public Ceremonies as you advance through Eras and can queue them as you would any building. Once completed, they increase that city’s yield of faith, food, money, science, stability, influence, or its fortification, depending on your pick.
To reduce snowballing potential, Humankind’s Public Ceremonies have their industry cost increased after being completed. While you can queue them up as many times as you want, they’ll take longer and longer to complete. Nevertheless, they’re very handy when you’re facing a resource shortage.
