If the two games above are more than enough to make for a frightening Halloween, Metal: Hellsinger gives us an arsenal of deadly weaponry and tasks us with blasting demons apart to the rhythm of ripping metal tunes.
Rebel Inc: Escalation then shifts the focus towards political/military strategic simulation, having us working to stabilize a war-torn country. This involves balancing military and civilian priorities while ensuring that insurgents fail to get the upper hand.
Lighthearted city-builder Lords and Villeins revolves around growing dynasties of medieval families and watching them live their lives. Don’t let the colorful pixel art fool you, though; there’s a good amount of depth here.
Spirit of the Island adds even more color to October 2023’s Humble Choice for anyone looking to hop into a new life sim.
Rounding things off, A Juggler’s Tale is a 2.5D platformer set in a world whose tone and mood is inspired by traditional fairy tales, while Mr. Prepper leaves whimsy behind, tasking us with preparing for a nuclear war.
