A few years after announcing its revival, EA is finally bringing back its beloved college football series. The release of EA Sports College Football 25 is imminent, but PC players have been left confused, as it seems the game won’t be available on PC alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Does this mean EA Sports College Football will never come to PC, or is it just delayed? Here’s what we know.
Is EA Sports College Football 25 coming to PC?
EA Sports College Football 25 is only releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There is no planned PC release, as confirmed in the game’s official announcement. Shortly after the game’s reveal, an EA community manager on the EA forums also confirmed that it doesn’t “have any information on why there is no PC release.”
This is somewhat unusual for EA, as most of their sports games, like FC 24 and Madden NFL 24, are available on PC. However, there is one notable exception: NHL 24 and its recent predecessors. The NHL franchise has been absent on PC for many years, and EA Sports College Football could follow the same pattern.
This will be disappointing to many players who were hoping for the game to be available on PC. Given that NHL games haven’t been on the platform for years, it seems unlikely that EA Sports College Football will arrive on PC either later this year or in future entries.
This year’s entry, set to release on July 19, 2024, marks the revival of the EA Sports franchise, which has been without new releases for over a decade. The last game in the series, NCAA Football 14, was released in 2013.
The game will feature all the college football teams you know and love, along with a host of modes to dive into, such as Road to Glory and Dynasty. Additionally, it will introduce new technology like the CampusIQ system, which brings an all-new composure mechanic on the field, player wear and tear during matches, and a variety of diverse playstyles.
So, while you won’t be able to play EA Sports College Football 25 on PC, there is still a lot to be excited about if you can play it on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.
