BlackMill Games and M2H today announced that World War I first-person shooter Isonzo has just received its fourth free expansion, Piana, which brings with it a brand new map.
Focused on the high-altitude conflict that took place on Monte Piana, Isonzo’s latest map pits the Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces against each other, starting with the former prepared to launch a bold counterattack after being pushed back by the latter.
Isonzo Piana Expansion
Available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4, the expansion is part of a free update that also adds Mac support, while allowing partial reloading for en bloc rifles.
Full-body aiming animations have also been added, while the capzone objective size of the Grappa map’s final sector has been adjusted.
Isonzo’s Piana expansion will be followed by at least four more maps, according to the roadmap linked above.
The FPS is also getting the Glacial Units Pack DLC, “which features improvised cold weather visual customization options for Italian and Austro-Hungarian troops.”
No details have been shared so far about a potential release date, but PC and Xbox players can already wishlist the pack. It will also be available on PlayStation at launch.
The title is also getting a special event later this year, bringing it in line with the other entries in the series (Verdun with its Christmas Truce and Tannenberg with it’s Wolf Truce event).
The developers haven’t shared specific details just yet but confirmed that “there will be no truce of any kind involved this time… and you’d better make sure to pack your snow gear.”
If you’ve yet to try the the WW1 Game Series, you’ll find it on sale for the remainder of the week. Isonzo will benefit from discounts ranging from 40% to 55%, while its DLCs will be between 10 and 30% cheaper.
The first two entries, Verdun and Tannenberg, will have their price slashed by a whopping 80%, marking their deepest discount yet.
In our review, we found that Isonzo “is capable of producing some incredibly tense and atmospheric gameplay,” despite appealing to a niche audience.
