Jagged Alliance 3 has us controlling a squad of mercenaries and engaging in turn-based tactical battles yet again, as we attempt to forcefully evacuate the Legion from Grand Chien. But facing a well-equipped paramilitary force alone might sound daunting, which is why you may be wondering if co-op support happens to be planned for launch.
Jagged Alliance 3 multiplayer would allow us to split duties between multiple players and enhance the feeling of camaraderie. Being the sole mastermind behind your squad’s actions has its perks, but some may prefer debating with a friend how to approach encounters and which narrative choices to make.
Jagged Alliance 3 Co-Op Support

“One player is designated the ‘host’ and the other the ‘partner’,” the developer explains in a dev diary. “The host is the one who initiates the game and the partner is the player who joins the host’s game. When creating a game the host has the option of starting a new campaign with their partner or inviting them into an ongoing playthrough.”
“The host can save and load games at any time as if they were playing alone and their partner will be there along for the ride. Additionally there is no functional difference between a save made in a co-op and single player, and the host can continue the game in single player if their buddy drops out. Both players can also load any of the saves (auto-saves or manual saves) created during co-op gameplay and continue them in singleplayer.”
Playing Jagged Alliance 3 in co-op means that the player who initiates conversations with NPCs decides how they progress.
Both participants can, however, observe the conversation in real-time, with the other player being able to offer suggestions in terms of which conversation options they’d prefer to use.
At the same time, “both players can only explore the same sector in tactical view,” according to the developer.
