One could argue that it’s always Halloween in Killing Floor 2 land, but if anyone was left doubting, publisher and developer Tripwire Interactive today dialed up the spooks in its co-op FPS with the launch of its Day of the Zed update.
Killing Floor 2’s Day of the Zed Halloween update brings a bunch of new things including a new map named Netherhold, which comes with five objectives of its own whose completion earns players a unique seasonal reward. This newest map supports the Survival, Weekly, and Endless modes.
Killing Floor 2 Day of the Zed Event
Speaking of Weekly modes, two new ones have been added in Killing Floor 2’s Day of the Zed Halloween update. Wild West London is a bit of a blast from the past, which limits players to wielding revolvers and lever-action guns, while coating everything around you in a special sepia filter, which ensures an old timey look.
Then there’s the new Abandon All Hope mode which makes levels even more difficult than Hell on Earth did previously. The enemy spawn rate has been “pushed to Max,” you deal with substantially more Heavies, while enemy health and damage output have been increased across the board. Players who complete Abandon All Hope earn a special Kriss Elite skin.
Four new weapons are also added in today’s Killing Floor 2’s Day of the Zed Halloween update:
- Piranha Pistols (Gunslinger/Berserker)
- Corrupter Carbine (Field Medic / Sharpshooter)
- HRG Disrupter (Gunslinger)
- HRG Tommy Boom (Demolitionist)
Killing Floor 2 will go on sale later in October and is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Check out its latest trailer below to get a glimpse at some of the new additions.
