League of Legends’ patch 14.2 release date brings the first set of notable balance tweaks to Riot Games’ popular MOBA following the debut of its newest season, which brought a hefty quantity of Void to Summoner’s Rift. Its patch notes will soon delve into upcoming champion and item balance tweaks, while a new set of Primal Ambush skins ensures that its 5v5 encounters won’t lack visual excitement.

League’s patch 14.2’s release date is slated to occur on Wednesday, January 24, as revealed in the official patch schedule for the year.

LoL’s patch 14.2 introduces a set of new Primal Ambush skins. Riven (1350 RP), Sivir (1350 RP), Vi (1350 RP), and Talon (1350 RP) count among the champions who’ll get to don more tribally-inspired looks in early 2024, as shared by the official League Twitter account.
In addition, Three Honors Akshan is also available on the PBE for 1350 RP and likely coming alongside LoL’s patch 14.2. It is intended as a reward skin for players who reach the highest honor level.
The League 14.2 patch preview lists upcoming buffs for Ahri, Camille, Ezreal, Gragas, and others, while champions like Fizz, Jax, and Teemo count among those in line to be nerfed.
Lead Gameplay Designer Matt Leung-Harrison provided additional insight into what the developer aims to achieve with this update.
Ranked tier boundary demotions are about to become more lenient, double and quadra support items will be nerfed, while further reductions to burst damage are also on the way.
Several rune stat shard changes are also planned, in an attempt to make existing choices more satisfying.
A set of changes for Briar are also available on the PBE, buffing her Q ability while tweaking her passive and W ability.
Smolder, the newest champion to join the Rift, will make his debut one week after the update goes live, on January 31.
