Update: Season 10 is set to launch on January 10, 2020, while patch 10.1 goes live two days earlier, on January 8, introducing the new champion Sett. League of Legends players will, as expected at the start of a new season, have to go through 10 placement matches to determine their division.
Original: League of Legend’s competitive seasons are, for many players, the game’s lifeblood and the announcement of Season 10’s start date is highly anticipated by the MOBA’s playerbase.
The pre-season changes that Riot Games aims to test for League of Legends Season 10 have hit the game’s Public Beta Environment almost a month ago. So, then, when does Season 10 begin?
League of Legends Season 10 Start Date
With the exception of Season 7, most League of Legends seasons in recent times have begun in mid-January, only to end at various dates in November.
We know for a fact that Season 9 ends on November 19, 2019, akin to previous seasons. Coupled with the changes planned for pre-season having been on the League of Legends Public Test Environment for almost a month now, they make it likely that Season 10 could very well kick off at some point in mid-January 2020.
Furthermore, Riot Games hasn’t announced any intention to change the duration of League of Legends Seasons, which makes Season 10 kicking off in January even more likely.
As much as everything checks out, this remains speculation until the developer releases an official statement. With a bit of luck, it won’t be long until we learn the League of Legends Season 10 start date, at which point we’ll update this article.
