Microsoft and Riot Games announcing that League of Legends is officially coming to PC Game Pass was, without a doubt, one of June’s biggest surprises. The free-to-play title has retained a massive playerbase over the years while establishing itself as one of the biggest esports around.
Part of a bigger push to have the developer’s games on Microsoft’s subscription service, League of Legends’ arrival on Game Pass may strike one as strange, given how it is a free-to-play title. Normally, the service is a good way to play titles without purchasing them at full price.

In the case of LoL, Game Pass offers a convincing incentive in the shape of instantly unlocking access to all existing champions.
In addition, it will also allow you to enter the Nexus as new champions as soon they’re added without having to buy them using in-game currency, which comes in both premium and non-premium variants.
After giving it a winter 2022 release window, Riot Games has now confirmed that LoL arrives on PC Game Pass on December 12, 2022.

As far as a LoL Xbox Game Pass version is concerned, there are no details to be shared at this point in time. The MOBA is only available on PC, so it makes sense that it won’t be available on the service’s console version.
Other titles in Riot’s portfolio, including Valorant and Teamfight Tactics are also headed to Game Pass this winter with similar benefits.
That is what you need to know about LoL’s arrival on Xbox Game Pass and its PC counterpart.
