For many, the most popular vampire clan in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines was the Malkavian, especially if you’d already finished the game. This is because the Malkavians already knew the entire plot of the game before even experiencing it, thanks to their demented psychic insight.
There was some question as to whether the Malkavians would be one of the initial clans for the long-awaited sequel, Bloodlines 2, but it seems Paradox Interactive saved the best for last, with an introduction video for everyone’s favorite nutcase Kindred.
Malkavians will own the Auspex discpline alongside their expected Dementation discipline. Those who those to join the “Oracles” will gain the following abilities:
Dementation
- Haunt – imparts an unseen spectre in the minds of victims. Unable to control themselves, they’ll try to flee in a panic.
- Berserk – fills the vampire’s targets with an uncontrollable rage, causing them to lash out at anything nearby – even the air itself, if no better target is available.
Auspex
- Aura Sense – allows the vampire to spot NPC’s through walls, read crowds at a glance and mark individuals, staying aware of them even over long distances. It also reveals the weaknesses of a marked NPC.
- Psychic Projection – forces the vampire’s mind from their body, allowing it to explore the area in astral form and use Aura Sight to mark any character they spot. The vampire’s senses have developed to such an extent that they may end up telepathically overwhelming the senses of others for a short while.
Gamers can find out more about the Malkavians during a live stream here. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be available this year in October for PC and consoles.
