Park management simulator Mars Attracts is preparing for the start of its first alpha playest, during which players can study and experiment on human captives in an early build of the game.
Slated to kick off on December 4, it will not be a “typical ‘test the servers before launch’ type of playtest,” developer Outlier stresses before noting that the servers will receive their own dedicated test next year.
Mars Attracts First Alpha Playtest
The current playtest, which ends on December 8, is meant to “integrate players early in the development cycle so we can make meaningful changes to the game based on your feedback.”
Anyone hopping in now should expect to bump into “bugs, performance issues, and missing/incomplete features.”
If you’re keen on playing Mars Attracts but would rather wait for a slightly more polished version, the developer promises there will be “plenty more opportunities to play before launch.”
All you need to do in order to sign up is complete this handy form on the game’s official website.
Based on the 1996 science fiction movie Mars Attacks!, park management sim Mars Attracts lets us construct theme parks above and below the planet’s surface.
To draw in visitors, we’ll have to place down rides and amenities while tailoring human enclosures to the needs of their inhabitants and experimenting on human captives to unlock better structures.
Although its first alpha playtest only lasts for the greater part of a week, we won’t have to wait too long before continuing our efforts to collect humans from across history in the name of profit, science, and amusement.
Mars Attracts is currently aiming for a 2025 Steam Early Access release.
