Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales returning as a badass superhero team ready to face powerful new threats. Known to synergize with each other, their presence in the highly-anticipated sequel brings up questions regarding whether or not co-op or multiplayer support might be planned for launch.
Exploring New York alongside a friend via Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 co-op is something many are hoping for, while the inclusion of multiplayer modes could offer a different type of experience in what’s shaping up to be a promising title.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Co-Op Support
If you count among those hoping the two features would make it in at launch, we have bad news to share. Developer Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will not feature co-op and multiplayer at launch.
When asked on Twitter if we’ll be able to bring a friend along for the ride, the developer replied with the following: “Nope! It is an epic single-player adventure!”
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 co-op support status: Unavailable at launch
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 multiplayer status: Unavailable at launch
While this doesn’t completely exclude the possibility of seeing the features added at some point after release, no signs currently point towards them being in the works.
Prior games in the series have also focused on the single-player component, so Insomniac Games might be looking to further capitalize on it rather than veer into multiplayer territory.
We’ll be on the lookout and update this article should there be any news regarding the potential addition of co-op and multiplayer support in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
