Mass Effect 2 might not have been a modding powerhouse back in the day, but it just so happens that the game does have a few very compelling mods, in case you're into that sort of thing. Fans of Anthem, in particular, may enjoy the Mass Effect 2 First Person Mod, which does precisely what it says on the tin.
The version of the first-person mode functionality works in much the same way as it does in Anthem, except it's in Mass Effect 2, one of the best Bioware games ever made.

While some might’ve been more interested in seeing a full, wide-sweeping Mass Effect 2 FPS mode, this particular mod we’ve got here handles the perspective shift exactly as it’s done in Anthem - combat and missions will play out normally, in third-person over-the-shoulder perspective, but the exploration portions will run in first-person.
Interestingly, the creator noted that first-person mode combat might be coming as well, though not soon: “I’ve tried, and for the most part succeeded with making a Combat version of this mod, but it’s far from ready to be released because of some major issues with the camera clipping with Shepard’s body and head.”
For the time being, then, it’s Anthem-style movement and interaction, and it all works surprisingly well! Watch the gameplay video below, and see for yourself. Download it here.
