Publisher and developer Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Rise PC version will include all of the post-launch content of its Nintendo Switch counterpart’s current version when it launches early next year.
This means that players picking up Monster Hunter Rise on PC will get to play through the base game and all of the post-launch content the Nintendo Switch version received leading up to update 3.6.1. In addition, the developer hopes to have both of the game’s versions synchronized as far as content goes by the end of February 2022.
Just like its predecessor, Monster Hunter Rise has grown after its initial console release thanks to a slew of free updates. PC players will have access straight away to several collaborations with games like Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, Okami, Street Fighter, Mega Man 11, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog.
Monster Hunter Rise’s PC version will also benefit from a new ending and a larger pool of monsters when compared to the Switch version from March 2021, including the following imposing beasties:
- Teostra
- Kushala Daora
- Chameleos
- Apex Diablos
- Apex Rathalos
- Crimson Glow Valstrax Monster
- Apex Zinogre
These are, undoubtedly, great additions to have alongside the PC versions’ batch of improvements that should extend the game’s life, giving us plenty to do before the game’s Sunbreak expansion launches. Capcom has, however, reiterated that crossplay and cross-saves will not be available.
Monster Hunter Rise is headed to PC (via Steam) on January 12, 2022.
If you’re looking for something to keep you busy until it lands, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin offers a turn-based twist on the core series’ gameplay recipe.
While you’ll still have to work on your reflexes during Rise’s real-time battles, Wings of Ruin does help you familiarize yourself with several important concepts that you’ll likely put to use early next year, including the importance of potion and different types of gear.
