Publisher and developer Pathea Games has released a story demo for upcoming post-apocalyptic life sim My Time at Sandrock just ahead of the deluge of demos bound to come as part of Steam Next Fest.
Clocking in at “around 4 hours of gameplay,” My Time at Sandrock’s story demo gives players an early taste of the sequel’s narrative while letting them meet the townsfolk they’ll help throughout the full game.
You’ll also get to try out the starting toolkit and machines, but also explore the desert biome. If you’ve spent lots of time in Portia, it may just make for a welcome change in scenery.
Features like “relationship activities, workshop upgrades, indoor decoration, skill tree upgrades, dungeon crawling, farming, voiceover, and children,” haven’t made it into My Time at Sandrock’s story demo, as the developer would rather “present these features in a more polished condition along with better art, more music, more townsfolk interactions,” in the Early Access build.
My Time at Sandrock will arrive later this year on PC, through Steam Early Access, before making it to other storefronts like the Epic Games Store or Gog.com. Its console version is slated to launch next year.
